BOOK REVIEW
.

This was such a nice read. I truly loved Gavin Kelley. It was extremely refreshing to read a book about a very young single father and the great feats he went through to make sure that he put his daughter, Josie first in everything.
I did enjoy the story and I did like the adorable bond between Josie and Penny. I, however, was focused more so on the development of Gavin and Penny. I personally felt that after one conversation with Bryce shouldn’t have made Gavin instantly pounce and all of a sudden falling in love with Penny. There were so many sweet moments between the two of them and I love the Kelley family, I just wanted Gavin to lead with his own feelings and not so much from a comment from family.
I may be in the minority but I wasn’t a fan of Maise. Hopefully she’s featured in another Kelley book. While I applaud Penny being her parental figure and helping keep her on the straight and narrow, the scene she was in with Gavin just rubbed me the wrong way. Hopefully if she’s paired with a possible Kelley brother and unfolds her own story I’ll connect a bit more with her🫶🏼.
I loved, however when Gavin and Penny opened up to one another in regard to their lives and the sacrifices each made for those they loved. I was happy that these two did spend time getting to know each other.
I enjoyed Faye’s friendship with Penny. I want to see more of Faye in the future because she was entertaining.
Stacey Lynn gave a sweet story and it’s always wonderful seeing the other Kelley family members in the mix.
