BOOK REVIEW

.

This book gave me so many emotions as I read it.

I was waiting to read Harrison Reid’s story since his appearance in The Summer I Destroyed You. I also lately loved reading his story as to why he kept his friends in the dark about how things took a turn for him relationship wise and professionally.

Elizabeth does a great job in bringing scenes from his past into the present as he tries his best to push through.

I honestly would have been a fan of Daisy’s had it not been the several mentions of Harrison changing her diapers as a baby. While there were some good scenes between Daisy and Harrison, I felt at times she was a bit too pushy and a tad needy for Harrison’s attention. Plus, I honestly can’t picture her at twelve wanting a relationship with a 23 year old man.

It was good seeing Liam and Emmy. Liam, I could understand the overprotective behavior with his niece, especially when it came to her sister’s douchebag hubby, Scott.

Oliver was a hoot and he and Harrison’s bickering banter was fun to read.

I wasn’t too keen on Bridget. Her behavior earlier on explains a lot to me about how Daisy deals with or lack there of in dealing with things.

Overall a good book to be a part of the arc team for.
