ARC: The Heart Breaker
Sara Cate’s book, Anti-Hero instantly drew me in, especially when it came to the twin brothers, so I was excited when The Heartbreaker was announced.
I loved that this story doesn’t just hit the gate running with the spice. I absolutely invested in this story, since I really wanted to ‘now about each Goode brother. Luke, Caleb’s twin, just resonated with me. Being a part of a family with such a messy past; a past he’s afraid will spill over into his present and his future.
Sadie and Luke may have started off like polar opposites, but in so many ways, these two fit like perfect puzzle pieces. She wants to achieve and accomplish her goals and Luke wants to accomplish a life that does not mirror that of his father.

What’s different is how Luke forges a relationship with Sadie. It’s a bit unconventional, starting it off by being a Dom of sorts, while she sassily submits. The one key thing though is Sadie isn’t trying to win attention from Luke but presenting herself to him as someone who can thaw his heart. These two don’t easily admit they like one another but with every act, they find themselves drawn to one another.
I love that we get some of the mini happenings with the rest of the Goode family (minus that father of theirs), especially Issac. His relationship with Luke is so special. The level of trust Issac has for him is beautiful. They play bicker but Luke wants the utmost best for him. I can’t wait to read his book.
Sara does a wonderful job at weaving every emotion in The Heart Breaker. She balances everything out to the point where you aren’t missing any emotion between the pages.
Stellar read. Thank Sara for the opportunity to read this ARC.
