BOOK REVIEW

I will never judge a book by its cover again! Ever!
One Fired Up Fourth is the romantic comedy I didn’t see coming. When Ben Kincaid’s raucous beach party gets him into hot water with the police, thanks to Aida McNaughton, who just moved into the beach house next to him for a summer of house sitting.
Aida deemed Ben as the typical party boy who wants to blow off responsibilities of what’s to come after graduating college. What she doesn’t count on is the two of them spending the summer together.
I loved that Ben, despite hiding behind the party boy reputation that his friends and his father deemed on him, he’s someone who wants to be his own person and not follow in the footsteps of a father who doesn’t seem to care for him. The more time he spends with Aida, the more he realizes he wants more in his life, which gradually becomes her.
Aida, although responsible, finds herself letting her guard down and when she does, she and Ben wind up getting to know one another, especially thanks to Ben’s hilariously over sharing grandmother, Miriam.
I loved Miriam. She gave me Blanche Devareaux 2.0 vibes. Her no filter is everything and she truly loves her grandson. Plus, you have to love a grandmother who has her own smut book reading group.
This was such a delightful read. I couldn’t stop grinning through Ben’s and Aida’s time together and I couldn’t stop laughing when Miriam was on my page.
