I love a man who is not only intellectually smart but also has a naughty side.  That’s what you get when you read King of Pride, the second book in the Kings of Sin series by Ana Huang.

Kai Young is young, brainy and knows how to… USE.  HIS.  WORDS.🥵  It any of you read the 1st Kings of Sins book, King of Wrath, there was a glimmer of Kai’s personality, especially where our FMC, Isabella Valencia is concerned.  There were moments where you saw that Kai was a man who was interested, even if one wouldn’t believe so.  That was how cool he played things.

In this second installment, you see more of Kai’s interest in Isabella.  He does it in subtle ways; coming to Vahalla Club on the days he knows or believes she’s working; carefully slinking to where she goes to play piano, or conveniently walking up on her mid embarrassing stories.

Isabella, who has a knack for over-sharing (especially when it pertains to sex 😝) may say she isn’t interested in all things Kai, but the girl is interested in ALL THINGS KAI.  She may not find his scholar knowledge in books and business attractive but the one thing she does find attractive?  His kisses and then some.

I loved that throughout the book, while Ana was sharing the growing attraction and blossoming relationship between Kai and Isabella, she was also giving us a preview of the sadness Alessandra Davenport was going through when it came to her husband Dominic; so much so, both Kai and Isabella picked up on it without her saying a word.

I love when Ana brings characters from her Twisted series.  Christian Harper, the mentioning of Queen Bridgette and Prince Rhys and lastly, Alex and Ava Volkov.  The way she weaved them in this story was beautifully done.

I love a woman who knows how to speak her mind and when Isabella went toe to toe with Leonora Young about Kai…YES!  It was a major mic drop when Leonora started talking to Kai in Cantonese, only for Isabella to cheekily respond back.

Overall this story was so good.  Kai is my favorite out of the King of Sins series… but let’s see if he still holds the #1 spot when Xavier Castillo’s story, King of Sloth releases in 2 months.
