Consider Me by Becka Mack is one of the best contemporary romances written about a man who will go to the ends of the earth to change the image that truly does not define him. A image that everyone seems to believe he will always hold; all for the love of a woman who has turned his world upside down in the best way possible.
When Olivia Parker walked into his life and outright rejected him in front of all his friends, it was game on for Carter Beckett to win her over and claim her heart. So much so, he was willing to put in the hard work to earn her trust in him.
His best friend and hockey teammate, Emmett Brodie said it best:
“One day, some girl is gonna walk into your life and flip your whole world upside down and you’re not gonna know what the f*ck to do with yourself except drop to your knees and beg her to never leave.”
I absolutely loved everything about Olivia. Her hesitation to trust Carter was valid, but her taking the leap of faith showed that she was willing to open her heart to Carter.
Carter had to be one of the endearing and lovable characters in the Playing for Keeps series. He’s not afraid to be the clown, but he’s also willing to be the one who loves on those he cares for the most; his family, his teammates and his Ollie🩷
One of the highlights in the book is Hank, Carter’s equally dirty-minded 80 something year old friend.
