BOOK REVIEW

.

I have never laughed so hard with a book until I started reading Meghan Quinn’s Bridesmaid Undercover! This book had so much banter and hilarious moments from every character featured.

Let’s talk about Hardy. I love him, yet, I was tired of his constant yammering about Maple. He was a walking, clueless disaster whenever he was around her, and definitely not who he normally was when around his family, peers and Everly. Hardy was trying way too hard to win Maple back. To be honest, why would he want her when Everly just fit with him? I think that’s what irked me. Hardy was wasting precious time impressing Maple (too hard) when there was a woman who already was invested in him.

Everly is all kinds of funny. I could relate to her because I have friends who have that sarcastic and sassy wit to them. I loved that she could playfully get under Hardy’s skin, even in their emails to one another. You just want Hardy to wake up and drop “Syrup” and go for Professor Plum. When they are together, they are just themselves without trying too hard with one another. Things between them was just natural.

Polly at times got on my nerves. Yes, she’s the bride and yeah, she’s friends with Maple, however, her mind should have been on her wedding and not so much on Hardy’s feelings for a previous love. Put Ember (sorry I may be in the minority, but I couldn’t stand her) in the “Stay in Your Lane” category, because I felt like she belittled Everly too much, rather than actually listening to her younger sister. Plus, someone burn her “Match making Card”🤣.

I didn’t read Bridesmaid For Hire, but I need too because Brody stole my attention a little bit. He was a mess in a good way. So blunt and so humorous. He and JP could have their own books because those two were a riot. I couldn’t stop laughing and when put in scenes with Hardy? Pure gold!

I did skim a few of the lengthy chapters in this book, because I wanted to get to the good stuff. Overall a pretty good book full of banter and slow burn.
