Book Review: When We Liked by Claire Contreras

Ready for an edge of your seat romance that has mystery weaved into the mix? If so, then be prepared for Claire Contreras’ upcoming novel, When We Lied.

Although this book was lengthy in chapters, it was a quick read and had a lot of goodness happening throughout.

Finn Barlow is a man who not only wants answers to what went down at an exclusive underground sex nightclub, but he also finds himself wanting the attention of Josslyn Santos, a high profile college basketball player who is connected to the events that took place.

I loved that Josslyn wasn’t someone who ,could be pushed around. I love that she has a loving family and friends who are her ride or die. When it comes to Finn, however, it’s clear that although she wants nothing to do with him, she REALLY wants something to do with him.

I loved how in between the slow burn of a relationship that was set to take place between the two main characters there’s this murder mystery that begins to play out; and both Finn and Josslyn find themselves in the thick of it all.

This book will catch you off guard and I enjoyed that. There are triggers in this, so if triggers aren’t what you want, you may want to take a step back from reading this. Those who aren’t bothered by triggers will thoroughly enjoy reading this.
