Rival Chefs Give A While New Meaning To Playing With Fire

Kate Lauren's A Recipe For Disaster was a super fun and quick read. Dakota Foster and Iris Hammond take culinary rivalry to a whole new level, so when word gets out that both of their restaurants are chosen to compete in The Art of Cooking Competition, the heat is on!
Iris, who has always been the main attraction with her restaurant, The Sweet Red soon sees red when newcomer, Dakota wows patrons in New York with his restaurant, The Closed Cook, making his restaurant the 1st to survive against her (who's restaurant has shut down close to 4 restaurants on Cranberry Streett. She finds him obnoxious and he finds her infuriating; yet neither wants to admit what is clearly obvious: they are HOT for one another!
The banter is hilarious; as much as Iris dishes & serves up the insults, Dakota serves them right. Add a conceited judge who catches Iris's eye and stirs up the green-eyed monster in Dakota, heartbreaking family pasts and a snafu in hotel accommodations and you have an amazing story.
There was a great deal of sexual tension, therefore the slow burn was worth the wait. I loved that Kate used the plot of the cooking competition as a way to peel the many layers of each character, forming an understanding of why Iris is who she is and what pushed Dakota in wanting to be the best in what he does.
